Manufactured from \u003cstrong\u003e21-4N stainless steel, fully nitrided after final machining, flow-bench tested, and engineered with an airflow-optimized profile\u003c\/strong\u003e, these are not simply replacement Ecotec exhaust valves.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur goal was to develop a \u003cstrong\u003estock-size performance exhaust valve that could improve airflow through valve geometry rather than relying on an oversized valve head\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat approach has already produced measurable results.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDuring development with \u003cstrong\u003eMWR Technologies\u003c\/strong\u003e, our prototype BK Racing Ecotec exhaust valve flowed approximately \u003cstrong\u003e3 CFM better than the OEM GM Ecotec exhaust valve\u003c\/strong\u003e on the same cylinder head and flow bench.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven more impressive, the prototype that produced those results measured slightly smaller than the finalized production valve.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinal BK Racing production exhaust valves measure \u003cstrong\u003e30.10–30.20 mm\u003c\/strong\u003e and incorporate the finalized geometry developed through our prototype program.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eWhy We Developed Our Own Ecotec Exhaust Valve\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are already stainless, nitrided, oversized and Inconel exhaust valves available for the GM Ecotec.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe weren't interested in making another replacement valve.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe wanted to find out whether the \u003cstrong\u003efactory-size Ecotec exhaust valve could be improved through better geometry\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInstead of simply increasing valve diameter, development focused on how air actually moves around the valve as it opens. The valve head, backside profile, margin, stem transition and overall shape were developed as part of the airflow path through the cylinder head.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat distinction is important.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eA larger exhaust valve doesn't automatically mean a better-flowing exhaust valve.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eValve diameter is only one part of the relationship between the valve, seat, throat, combustion chamber and exhaust port.
