BK Racing Chevy Cobalt Solid Spherical Trailing Arm Bushings were developed for high-performance and racing applications where factory rubber rear suspension bushings allow excessive movement, inconsistent rear geometry, and unstable chassis behavior under load.
Factory trailing arm bushings are designed primarily for ride comfort and vibration isolation, but under aggressive cornering, braking, acceleration, and high grip tire conditions, the factory rubber bushings deflect significantly and allow unwanted rear suspension movement that negatively affects rear toe control, cornering stability, and suspension consistency.
The BK Racing spherical design eliminates rear suspension bind and unwanted deflection by replacing the factory rubber bushings with true high-misalignment spherical bearings engineered for maximum articulation and geometry control during severe driving conditions.
Unlike polyurethane bushings that can still flex or bind during suspension travel, the BK Racing spherical bearing design allows smooth articulation while maintaining precise rear suspension positioning under load.
Why Rear Suspension Deflection Matters
As suspension load and tire grip increase, factory rubber bushings distort and allow the rear suspension geometry to shift unpredictably. This movement can contribute to:
• Rear toe change under load
• Unstable corner entry and exit behavior
• Inconsistent traction
• Uneven tire wear
• Delayed chassis response
• Suspension bind during articulation
By eliminating unwanted compliance, the BK Racing spherical bushings help maintain more consistent rear suspension geometry while improving overall chassis predictability and rear-end stability.
Features
• Solid spherical bearing design
• Zero-deflection rear suspension mounting
• High-misalignment articulation capability
• Precision press-fit sleeve construction
• Greaseable design for long-term serviceability
• Reduced suspension bind compared to polyurethane bushings
• Sold as a matched pair
Performance Benefits
• Improved rear-end stability
• More predictable handling response
• Reduced rear suspension deflection
• Improved rear toe consistency under load
• Better traction during acceleration and corner exit
• Increased chassis feedback and suspension precision
Compatibility
Compatible with:
• Chevrolet Cobalt (2005–2010)
• Chevrolet Cobalt SS
• Pontiac G5
• Saturn Ion
• Delta platform applications
Compatible with:
• Factory trailing arms
• Aftermarket trailing arms
• Lowered suspension setups
• Coilover-equipped vehicles
Customers commonly pair these bushings with the BK Racing Forward and Rearward Solid Control Arm Bushings for increased suspension consistency, improved chassis predictability, and more precise handling control during aggressive driving and racing conditions.
Ideal Applications
• Autocross
• Road racing
• Circle track racing
• Drag racing
• Lowered street cars
• High grip tire combinations
• Dedicated race vehicles
NVH Note
Because these bushings utilize true solid spherical bearings with zero compliance, additional road feedback, vibration, and drivetrain noise compared to factory rubber or polyurethane bushings should be expected. These bushings were developed for builders prioritizing suspension precision and rear geometry control over factory ride comfort.
These bushings are commonly paired with BK Racing tie rod upgrades, steering stops, and solid drivetrain mounts for maximum chassis consistency and handling precision.
Designed for off-road and racing applications.
