The BK Racing Short Chain Balance Shaft Delete Sleeve System 

Rather than relocating factory components, BK Racing developed a complete sleeve system designed specifically for Ecotec balance shaft removal.

Our system consists of both Inner Balance Shaft Delete Sleeves and Outer Balance Shaft Delete Sleeves, each engineered to perform a specific function while maintaining the integrity of the engine’s oiling system.

The Inner Sleeves install inside the factory inner bearing races to permanently block the oil passages while allowing the factory bearing races to remain exactly where GM installed them.

The Outer Sleeves replace the factory outer bearing assemblies and are precision-machined to install in their intended location.

Together, these components complete the balance shaft delete while maintaining the oiling system without relying on relocating factory bearing races.


Why We Leave the Factory Bearing Race in Place

The design removes much of the guesswork from the installation process.

The sleeves are precision-machined to extremely tight tolerances to create a secure interference fit.

For installation, we recommend freezing the sleeves overnight. As they cool, they contract slightly, allowing them to install more easily. Once they return to room temperature, they expand back to their original dimensions, creating a tight, secure fit.
