xWhy Many Ecotec Builds Eliminate the Exhaust Cam Sensor
Many VVT Ecotec cylinder heads use an additional exhaust camshaft position sensor that earlier GM Ecotec ECUs and wiring harnesses do not require.
This is especially common when:
• installing VVT heads onto earlier non-VVT engine harnesses
• performing VVT head swaps on L61 applications
• converting to standalone engine management
• simplifying race-only engine wiring
• performing COP/non-VVT head conversions
In these applications, the additional exhaust cam sensor simply becomes unused.
The BK Racing Cam Sensor Delete Plug was developed specifically to provide a clean, professional billet solution for sealing unused Ecotec camshaft position sensor ports during custom swaps and high-performance builds.
Instead of leaving an unused sensor installed or using improvised block-off methods, the BK Racing billet delete plug cleanly seals the cylinder head while simplifying the engine bay and creating a cleaner finished appearance.
This makes it an ideal solution for earlier ECU conversions, custom harness setups, and simplified Ecotec performance applications.
