xIntentional Tight Interference Fit — New Bolts Included
Every BK Racing reluctor wheel is manufactured with an intentionally tight interference fit. The fit grips the crankshaft to help prevent the wheel from moving or coming unsecured. Every wheel also includes a new set of mounting bolts.
Confirm the correct crankshaft mounting, trigger pattern, crank sensor arrangement and ECU compatibility before installation. The tight fit is intentional; correct alignment and professional installation remain important.
The BK Racing Ecotec 36-2 Reluctor Wheel is an internally mounted crankshaft trigger wheel for compatible 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec crankshafts used with standalone engine management.
36-2 Trigger Pattern
A 36-2 pattern has 36 nominal tooth positions with two missing teeth, leaving 34 physical teeth. The missing-tooth gap provides a reference for a compatible ECU decoder.
Internal Crankshaft Mounting
The wheel mounts inside the engine on the crankshaft, avoiding an external crank-pulley trigger-wheel conversion. Correct mounting, sensor alignment and trigger setup are essential.
Compatibility and Installation
Confirm the crankshaft mounting pattern, sensor type, sensor gap and polarity, ECU support for the exact 36-2 pattern, and any cam-signal requirements before ordering. ECU brand alone does not establish compatibility. Professional engine assembly and ECU configuration are required.
A trigger wheel does not determine the safe RPM limit or horsepower of an engine. Those depend on the complete engine combination and calibration.
